Krista's introduction into the dog show world came from her parents. Born into the family hobby, they showed, sledded, and backpacked their Alaskan Malamutes. Krista's parents decided to downsize to Schipperkes, because they realized Malamutes were not easily manageable for a small child to show. In 1984 their first schipperke was purchased from Knotty Knoll Kennel. BISS Champion Knotty Knoll Cornerstone turned out to be foundation male for Delamer Kennel, he was shown by Krista to Best In Specialty Show and became her first Multiple Group Placer at age 16. Soon followed 3 foundation bitches, all Best In specialty winners, one of them BISS Knotty Knoll Lerina went on to win breed at nationals.

As college choices became evident, Krista needed to make choices, she attended college locally so she could also concentrate on her Schipperkes and her breeding program. While working towards her degree she started breeding Schipperkes in 1991. Her first litter produced 3 out of 4 champions. Her second litter produced 1st national specialty winner, winners dog 1993. Krista has attended every National Specialty for the past 23 years and has enjoyed 5 National Best of Breed wins, 5 National best of opposite sex, numerous winners dogs, winners bitches and best of winners, best in sweepstakes and many best in futurities. including the first awarded in 1995.

Krista has also had the great fortune of retiring several challenge trophies, the latest best of opposite at nationals Krista replaced and dedicated to her late breeder Anne K. Smith. Wins also include 6 all breed best in show winners in USA, best in show winners in Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Russia as well. Krista bred the all time best in show winning Schipperke, BIS BISS Ch. Delamer Beach Blanket Baby "Beach" with 18 Best In shows!

Also the youngest best in show winner at 12 months of age and 2 time breed winner at nationals BIS Ch Delamer Pink Flamingo "Pink" .And still the most winning BISS BISS Ch. Delamer Fire Island Fox "Flame" two time pedigree award winner, all breed BIS winner, national best of breed winner, only Schipperke in history to place in group at Eukanuba invitational show, only bitch to ever place at Westminster Kennel Club Group, first top 20 winner in the breed.

Being a single woman, juggling life, work , breeding, and traveling while on a shoestring budget, Krista has proven great things can be achieved while pursuing her passion for this lovely little breed.
